Duo Kleingartenanlage at the Lanius-Knab Winery
Julia Oschewsky, vocals, guitar, bass, ukulele
Marc Kluschat, guitars, foot drums, vocals
Whether in the Mediterranean-style courtyard of the Lanius-Knab winery or as the support act for Sarah Connor at Mainz’s Volkspark, the duo Kleingartenanlage has something decidedly ‘natural’ about them. Singer Julia Oschewsky and guitarist Marc Kluschat remain unfazed by any association with a certain stuffiness or even petty-bourgeoisie on their creative playground. Anyone expecting conventional sounds from ‘Kleingartenanlage’ will be proven wrong from the very first listen. In 2013, the idea arose to present music as a duo in an honest, fresh and intimate way, without sacrificing the big band sound. Within the band, Marc thus fulfils not only the role of guitarist but also that of drummer, providing the rhythm with the help of various foot pedals. Furthermore, Julia’s voice and the dual guitar playing quickly blended into a harmonious whole.
The pair made their debut as a duo in August 2013 at Johann Lafer’s house party at Stromburg Castle. Since then, the band has been delighting audiences with a minimalist line-up, performing a varied repertoire of their own songs and original arrangements of well-known classics.
With a powerful sound that is infectious, heartfelt, soulful and rousing, the duo will provide the musical backdrop for the open wine tasting hosted by the VDP wineries Matthias Müller and Lanius-Knab.
You can also order a selection of tasty treats from the Lanius-Knab snack menu before the event and during the interval.
