Description

Lagenweine are wines from top-notch vineyards with their own unique character and ideal growing conditions. Wines that get the ‘Große Lage’ label are the best in Germany. This wine comes from the Oelsberg vineyard in Oberwesel. On steep slopes with gradients of up to 80%, the vines grow directly on the Rhine. The laborious manual work on these steep slopes guarantees high quality. The Oelsberg is characterised by the interplay of slate, loess loam and red sandstone. Together with the microclimate, this gives the wine a distinctive individuality.

The vintage:
The 2010 wine year in the Middle Rhine region was an exciting, very good vintage with rather low yields. After a cool spring and changeable summer, the sunny autumn brought healthy, aromatically clear grapes. The Rieslings are characterised by lively acidity, clear fruit, minerality and elegant structure, and have good ageing potential. A vintage of great finesse despite small quantities.

Description:
This Grand Cru captivates with fine violet notes, floral accents and yellow stone fruit, embedded in a clear minerality. On the palate, it displays lively acidity, harmonious balance and fine structure. The Oelsberg captivates with a long-lasting, elegant finish. A real treat that combines finesse, maturity and drinking pleasure.
